Dr. Michael T. Smith
|
|
Dr. Michael T. Smith is our dentist. He was born in Ogden and was raised in Roy, Utah. Growing up, he enjoyed training and competing in Power Tumbling, where he placed 1st in Utah, 2nd nationally, and in the world competition in Aukland, New Zealand he placed 3rd. He graduated from Roy High School where his tumbling skills aided him in becoming the school's spirit leader/mascot. Most of Dr. Smith's life has been centered around the dental field. His father is a newly retired orthodontist and Dr. Smith worked in his father's practice most of his life as a chair-side assistant, fabricating retainers/study models, sterilization, and schedule coordinator. Dr. Smith broke from his studies to dedicate two years of his life in church service to the people of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was offered a scholarship to Weber State University where he studied his predental curriculum. He later attended dental school at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. He and his family thoroughly enjoyed Indiana for their wonderful children's museum and amazing zoo (but didn't care for the tornados). Dr. Smith finds his greatest happiness being with his wife and four wonderful children (three girls and now a boy). He also enjoys Snowboarding/Wakeboarding, Golfing, and traveling with his family. Dr. Smith's greatest joy in his work is to see how people's smiles are changed for the better, promoting greater self esteem while he focuses on patient comfort throughout the entire process.

I am a dental assistant here at Holladay Smiles. I love assisting and most of all helping patients. I am married to an awesome guy, Jordan and have one beautiful little girl, Peyton. I have lived in Utah my whole life. I attended Hillcrest High School, then Utah Valley University, and currently Salt Lake Community College where I am working toward becoming a Dental Hygienist. I hand dip chocolates at Rebecca’s Chocolates in Sandy, and I also teach group fitness classes at Taylorsville Recreation Center. I love scrapbooking, working out, and most of all spending time with my family.

I have been Holladay Smiles’ dental hygienist since February 2009. I love it! Interacting with our patients and working together with them, as a team, to improve their oral health is the highlight of my job.
Holladay is my home; I have lived here for 24 years. I attended Brigham Young University for two years and then moved to Binghamton, New York where I received my Dental Hygiene Degree. I graduated at the top of my dental hygiene class and was presented with an award from the Broome County Dental Society in recognition of having received the highest honor for academic and clinical proficiency in dental hygiene.
Away from work I love to travel, take yoga classes, work on my house, and spend time with friends and family.
Working at Holladay Smiles is such a blessing. We have a great team that knows how to work hard and have fun along the way.

I'm originally from St. George and moved to Holladay in February of 2010. I have been assisting at Holladay Smiles since April of 2010. I love the atmosphere this office has, and love working with all of our patients. I have attended Utah Valley University and Dixie State College and have an associates of science, and I'm still undecided on what to finish school in. I love traveling and experiencing other cultures and I want to learn every language. My dream is to live in a bunch of different countries and teach children and adults about oral hygiene. Outside of work I love summer, and everything that goes with it: wakeboarding, boating, hiking, camping and vacations. I also enjoy cooking, running, and spending time with my family as much as possible.
